SCOTIA -- The Animal Protective Foundation now has 28 extra cats to care for after a homeowner dropped off an evicted tenant's animals at the shelter Wednesday afternoon.
The look-alike cats were dropped off in boxes on the lawn of the shelter by a man who'd evicted his tenant, according to Marguerite Pearson at APF. It was unclear how long they'd been in the boxes or on the lawn when APF workers found them.
The woman who owned the cats did show up at the shelter at about 2 p.m. to formally give them over, said Pearson.
The cats are now being treated for fleas and other conditions.
