Cat and kitten adoption fees discounted during Cats-giving
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society are slashing adoption fees in half for cats and kittens during their first ever "Cats-giving," being held to find loving homes for 250 cats in their care.
The Menands animal shelter will cut adoption fees to $35 for adult cats and $50 for kittens until Nov. 29.
"We hate to see animals in the shelter on a holiday when we know that they could be at home with a new family," said Executive Director Brad Shear.
The shelter says there are a surplus of cats from the summer months because too few pet owners spay or neuter their cats.
Adoption hours are Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The shelter is located at 3 Oakland Avenue in Menands.
