Second cat body found tortured, wrapped in tarp

A second cat's body has been found tortured and mutilated near the Hudson river.

At 6 a.m. Wednesday, David Dean of the Troy Police Department tells us that the Watervliet Police called to say they had found a dead cat wrapped in a tarp on the Congress Street bridge.

Dean says that the cat is a black and white haired domestic, and says there was a projectile in its head that he speculates was delivered from a construction-style tool.

Dean says that there is no immediate connection between this cat and the cat found mutilated and tortured in a backpack, pulled from the Hudson River near Troy last month; however, Dean says a necropsy will reveal more information.

The Troy police department is working on this case, anyone with information directly related to the animal's death or torture is asked to call 270-4426.
