Capitol haunting tours return
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Look out for ghosts at the Capitol this Halloween season as state officials bring back the "Capitol Hauntings Tours."
The free tours begin today and run Monday through Friday until October 31st, with special weekend tours at the end of the month.
Capitol tour guides will take visitors through the historic building in downtown Albany to explore the legends, folklore and ghost stories associated with it. Highlights include seeing the exact spot where night watchman Samuel Abbott died in the Capitol fire of 1911 and exploring the legend of "the Secrete Demon."
The hour-long tours are open to the public but reservations are required. For more information, you can check out the state Office of General Services' Web site at www.ogs.state.ny.us.
