Congressional Candidates Talk Stimulus
Comments 0 | Recommend 0
Just two weeks left in the race to replace now Senator, Kirsten Gillibrand in the 20th Congressional District. Democrat Scott Murphy and Republican Jim Tedisco were back at it today, both stumping in different parts of the district talking about their stance on the Economic Stimulus Plan. After weeks of questions about his stance on the plan, Tedsico finally said Monday, that he would have voted against it. At the Levonian Pork Plant in troy today, Tedisco said, "Congress was not truthful to the public when they said this is a stimulus package. This is to go to middle class tax cuts, to create infrastructure projects to help with Medicaid, but there's $300 billion dollars in there of earmarks and philosophical spending." From his Headquarters in Saratoga Springs today, Democratic Candidate, Scott Murphy said, "It's money to put people to work on shovel ready projects all across our district. My opponent has called those projects pork. Well, I think their important."
Election Day is March 31st.
