Motorist ticketed in Altamont school bus accident
Albany County Sheriffs are investigating an accident involving a special needs school bus and a pick up truck.
Anthony M. Vadalabene, 55, of Berne, allegedly ran through a stop sign on Picard Road and State Route 156 at 3:10 P.M., striking a Durham School Services bus of special needs students from the Cobb Memorial School in Albany, according to a statement released by sheriffs.
Vadalabene was issued two tickets for failure to stop for a stop sign and speeding, police said. He will appear in the Town of New Scotland Court on Oct. 22.
The bus driver had arm, leg and chest injuries and was transported to Memorial Hospital, according to the statement. Four students were taken to St. Peter's Hospital for minor injuries. A school bus aid also had minor injuries.
