National Guard honors Martin Van Buren

The New York National Guard is honoring President Martin Van Buren today by laying a wreath at his grave site in the Kinderhook Cemetery.
Brigadier General Patrick Murphy will lay the wreath, and local officials and school children will be on hand to pay respects.
Van Buren was born in the town of Kinderhook on Dec. 5, 1782, and died there on July 24, 1862. He was the eight president of the United States.
