McDonald officially enters Senate race

Comments 0 | Recommend 0

The 43rd Senate district has been home to Senator Joe Bruno for the last 32 years, and now Assemblyman Roy McDonald is hoping to carry out Bruno's legacy.

"I pledge to you that I will do the very best I can -- and I announce to you that I am running for the New York State Senate," McDonald said in his official campaign announcement Wednesday morning.

With Sen. Bruno by his side outside the Veterans of Lansingburgh Hall on First Ave., McDonald told a crowd of supporters he will do his best to continue what Bruno has done for the area in terms of jobs, infrastructure and technology.

If elected, he said he also plans to make reducing property taxes a priority.
