Boy, 8, flown to hospital after ATV accident

An 8-year-old boy was flown to a hospital early this afternoon after crashing an ATV vehicle he was riding in a wooded area in Saratoga County.

According to the Saratoga County Sheriff's Office, the boy was riding an ATV in the back of 108 Comstock Rd. in the town of Corinth. The boy was speeding and struck a stump, causing him to fly off the vehicle and the ATV to roll over several times before it came to a rest on top of him.

The boy was injured on his head and neck, and flown to Albany Medical Center for treatment.

It wasn't clear how the young boy gained access to the ATV or whether the property he was riding on belonged to his family. Police are continuing to investigate.
