A 38-year-old critical-care nurse who moonlights as a boxing contender is scheduled to fight May 16 against Miriam Brakache at the Albany Armory.

Elizabeth Mooney, wife and mother of two boys from the Albany suburb of Delmar, will face Brakache, fighting out of Atlanta. They'll go eight rounds for what's being billed as the state women's welterweight title.

Mooney (5-3), who decisioned Bonnie Mann in her last fight, and Brakache (5-6) are both ranked in the top 10.

In other fights, Troy heavyweight Shannon Miller (15-4) faces Dione Craig (4-12) over six rounds, and Saratoga heavyweight Gary Wilcox (20-3) fights John Rainwater (14-15) of Worcester, Mass.
