UPDATED March 22, 1 p.m.
COPAKE -- Police have identified the body found Saturday in Copake as a 22-year-old resident of the town.
The body found in a field off County Route 7A has been identified as that of John Picarello, who was reported missing on Dec. 1, 2009. His family has been notified, said the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office says Picarello may have intentionally overdosed on prescription medication, though an official cause of death will not be determined until toxicology results come back.
No foul play appears to be involved, said the Sheriff's Office.
The identification was made through a combination of personal and other items recovered at the scene, information from State Police on its missing person investigation into Picarello, interviews conducted by the Sheriff's Investigators and examination conducted at the autopsy.
Picarello's family has been notified, said the Sheriff's Office.
