Change in leadership for Schenectady school board
Comments 0 | Recommend 0
A new leader is taking over the Schenectady Board of Education. After six months of turmoil surrounding the investigation into former district facilities director and accused terrorist Steven Raucci, Jeff Janiszewski declined a nomination to another term as board president. He had served in that position since 2004.
Janiszewski then nominated Maxine Brisport, who was approved as the new leader. Newly-elected board member Diane Herriman was elected vice president of the board. She and Wachala were officially sworn into office at the meeting Wednesday night.
