A bathroom fire at an elementary school Friday morning was apparently started by an 8-year-old boy.
The Pittsfield deputy fire chief tells CBS 6 the boy at Allendale Elementary School was playing with a lighter in the boy's bathroom, and set fire to toilet paper.
The fire burned through his pants, causing minor burns to his lefs, the deputy chief says.
The smoke caused fire detectors to go off, but no damage was done to the bathroom.
The child has been referred to the Juvenile Fire Setters program.
