An Averill Park barn is being called a total loss after a fire this morning.

Chief Paul Glasser of the Averill Park - Sand Lake Fire Department says a passerby saw smoke and flames coming from the barn at 8780 Miller Hill Road in Averill Park around 8:00 this morning.

Firefighters found the barn in flames when they got there.

No livestock were injured.

We're told it started when an ATV caught fire inside the barn.

A second barn also caught fire, but the fire department was able to save that one.
