State Police arrested a 37-year-old man Wednesday on DWI charges after investigating an accident in the town of Claverack.

Troopers responded to a property damage auto accident on Gahbauer Rd. near the intersection of Deer Dr. at around midnight, and determined the driver, Jody Kittle, had been speeding while driving westbound on Gahbauer Rd. before he drove off the north shoulder of the roadway.

The responding troopers detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverage in the car while interviewing Kittle, and administered an alcohol detection exam.

Kittle was arrested after failing the tests; he was processed at police barracks and released with traffic tickets. He's expected to return to the Town of Claverack Court March 3rd.
