WOODSTOCK, N.Y. (AP) -- The Woodstock Film Festival will screen a number of films made by Hudson Valley residents and featuring local areas.
Among the films is "The Bell," based on an Emerson poem and narrated by Martin Sheen. It features local children and was shot at the Woodstock Day School. The short film was directed by Erik Weigel, who spent the summer living in a Woodstock house once owned by American director Preston Sturges.
The annual festival will take place from Sept. 30 to Oct. 4. The festival is scheduled to include more than 150 films, plus panels, concerts and special events in Woodstock and Kingston, Rhinebeck and Rosendale.
