UPDATE: Who wrote the Albany theme song?

ALBANY -- We’re just learning more about the new theme song for Albany.

Deputy Mayor Phil Calderone is responsible for the lyrics and Melli Rose, the Public Relations Coordinator for Albany’s Special Events, wrote the music. She’s also the one singing.

Bob Van Amburgh in the mayor’s office told CBS 6 the funding came from “our very modest All-America City budget line.”

ALBANY -- City leaders have released a new song all about the Capitol City.

The Albany Song! is going to be used “as background music for a video highlighting the City and its myriad attractions,” according to Bob Van Amburgh in the mayor’s office. 

This is by no means Albany's only theme song.
