More donors needed for Albany County's Adopt-a-Family program

ALBANY -- The Albany County Department for Children, Youth and Families says it needs more donors this year for the county's Adopt-a-Family program, which connects individuals, groups or organizations to a family in need during the holiday season.

Donors are provided details about the family, including the ages and interests of the children, and appropriate gifts according to the needs of the family.

Many families are in need of such basic items as blankets, winter coats and sheets.

The program benefited more than 320 families last year, but the county says it's hoping to get more families adopted this year.

If you wish to participate, please contact Sherri Chromik in the DCYF by calling 518-447-5659 or emailing Sherri.Chromik@albanycounty.com. Donor forms are available at albanycounty.com.
