Local Students Honored

ALBANY, NY --   Ten students who have faced a lot of adversity are getting singled out by Albany County Executive Mike Breslin for their achievements. 

It's called the Albany County Youth Awards and it honors middle and high school students for academic improvement, community contributions and personal growth and improvement.

Here are the students receiving the awards:

Most Improved Student Award:

Emani Peterson- Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School, Jarred Mills-Martinek - Colonie High School

John F. Finn Community Service Award:

Victoria Roberts - Bethlehem Middle School, Michael Cruz - Albany High School

Ed Roche Outstanding Youth Award:

Shatiek McLean - Stephen and Harriet Myers Middle School, Faustina Keta - Albany High School

George Roe Athletic Achievement Award:

Hayley Mattice - Farnsworth Middle School, Kimberly Johnson - Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk High School

Artistic Expression Award

Sanaya Arrington - Philip Livingston Middle School, Queniah Maye - Albany High School
