Albany man accused of stealing murdered brother's property
Comments 0 | Recommend 0A 47-year-old Albany man was arrested on a grand larceny charge after, police say, he stole his murdered brother's excavator and trailer from a Halfmoon home.
Ever Tirado, of North Pearl St., is accused of stealing a 2007 Bobcat compact excavator and a heavy-duty equipment trailer from a home on Button Road in the town of Halfmoon. Police believe the theft occurred in July or August of this year.
He was arrested Wednesday on a charge of felony third-degree grand larceny.
The excavator and trailer, valued at a total of $15,000, belonged to Tirado's brother, Alfredo Tirado, who was murdered in the city of Albany in January 2008.
The property had been granted to Alfredo's daughter by the Albany County Surrogate's Court. They have not been recovered from Ever Tirado.
Tirado was arraigned in the Halfmoon Town Court and remanded to the county jail on $7,500 cash bail.
