Guilderland Pedestrian Accident

The Guilderland Police Department is investigating an accident involving a car hitting a pedestrian. The accident happened around 4:00PM Friday on Western Avenue in the area of Dutch Manor Lane. Officials say Kenneth Coons, 72, of Slingerlands, NY was crossing Western Avenue when he was struck by a white Ford Focus driven by Michael Acosta, 23, of Albany, NY. Acosta was going eastbound when the pedestrian crossed in front of him from the north. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor. No charges have been filed at this time.
