ALBANY -- State Senator Tom Libous is recovering at home after he underwent surgery Saturday for his prostate cancer, his spokesperson said.
Libous, of Binghamton, and the state Senate Republican's second-in-command after Dean Skelos, announced in August he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer. He said the diagnosis would not affect his political plans.
His office said Monday he had surgery at Memorial Sloane Kettering Hospital in New York City, and will be recovering at home during December.
Libous ran the coup in the Senate in June that gridlocked the state capitol for months.
