UAlbany student pleads guilty to gun possession
He was pulled over for making an illegal u-turn in the road, and wound up getting arrested for having a gun in his car. Now a University at Albany student could face prison time after admitting to the charge.
Twenty-year-old Kevin Turner, a UAlbany student from Smyrna, DE, was arrested Sept. 22nd, when a state trooper noticed him making a u-turn in the area of Central Ave. and Everett Rd. at around 1:16 a.m.
While speaking to Turner, the trooper observed a .380 caliber handgun, later determined to be loaded with seven live rounds.
Turner pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony third-degree attempted criminal possession of a weapon. He faces two years in prison and three years of probation when he's sentenced next June.
