A SEVERE T'STORM WATCH is in effect until 8 pm for Albany, Rensselaer, Warren, Columbia, Saratoga, Washington, Greene, Schenectady, Berkshire, Bennington & Rutland Counties.  A watch means that conditions are favorable for thunderstorms to produce localized damaging wind gusts and large hail as well as frequent lightning and torrential rain.

September 18, 1972 - Jane Fonda brings Vietnam protest to NY

More than 40 years ago, the country was divided by the Vietnam war.
   
One of its most vocal activists: actress Jane Fonda.
   
On this day back in 1972, Fonda and her then-husband Tom Hayden attended a peace rally in New Paltz.
   
They were guests on a radio call-in program and met with hundreds of anti-war activists at a rally.
   
Fonda said she expected the anti-war efforts to continue until the war ended.
