On this day in our history back in 1969, we reported from Stockbridge, Massachusetts, at the corner house.

The building, that dates back to 1800, was opened to the public for the first time and reporter dick beach was there.

The historical society had stepped in and bought the house to keep it from becoming a gas station or a supermarket.

Among the highlights of the interior: 35 original paintings from Norman Rockwell, who was part of the effort to keep the house intact.June 3, 1969 - The Corner House opens to the public
