Significant Snow Storm Starting Later Tonight Through Monday

A significant snow storm will impact the region beginning late this evening and continuing through Monday.  Snow will become heavy at times after midnight and through Monday morning with snowfall rates of 1"-2" per hour.  This will lead to very poor travel conditions overnight and through much of the day on Monday.  Snow will become lighter Monday afternoon, but will likely not end until the evening.  Total snowfall accumulations for most regions look to reach 8"-14".

June 1966 - State takes over Olana

As we look back in our history, we take a look at June of 1966 - a year after being designated a national historical landmark, the Olana state historic site in Greenport (east of Catskill) Was taken over by the state.

Governor Nelson Rockefeller was on hand for a special ceremony to mark the occasion.

The grounds are still open during the day throughout the year and the original carriage roads are accessible.June 1966 - State takes over Olana
