Light to Locally Moderate Snow Storm From Sunday Afternoon- Early Monday Morning

A weak area of low pressure will cross the region from late Sunday through early Monday morning bringing a period of accumulating snow which will begin as some light and spotty snow on Sunday afternoon. A steadier snow will develop through the evening and into Sunday night. Expect slow and slick travel conditions Sunday night with variable snow accumulations ranging from 1"-3 in the Capital Region to as much as 5"-7" in terrain favored areas in the Adirondacks, Lake George-Saratoga Region, Vermont and Berkshire County.

On this day in 1968, the move that led to the birth of Schenectady County Community College.

The 43-year-old van curler hotel closed due to bankruptcy earlier in the year, and the county had its eye on the property.

On June 19th, It went up for grabs in an auction.

The college was established in 1967 inside the Van Curler hotel, and has undergone multiple expansions through the decades.June 19, 1968 - Move that led to birth of Schenectady CC
