Light to Moderate Snowfall Tonight Through Friday AM, Slow and Slick Travel Developing

Snow will overspread the region tonight, likely arriving in the Capital Region after 9 or 10pm and closer to midnight across western New England.  Slick road conditions will evolve tonight with a slow morning drive likely.  Expect an average of 2"-5" of snow through the early afternoon on Friday with pockets of 6"+ in the Mohawk valley, Lake George - Saratoga Region, Adirondacks, VT, and the northern Berkshires.  Bitterly cold air will follow the snow for Friday night and Saturday

July 31, 1968 - Rats life in Schenectady!

On this day in 1968... Schenectady could have used some help from the Pied Piper.

Why? Rats, and lots of them!

Causing the city to take action ... young men cleaned up alleys and yards, while young women went door to door asking homeowners to open their doors to exterminators.

Surprisingly, about 40 percent of the folks refused the help, which concerned the head of the county health department.July 31, 1968 - Rats life in Schenectady!
