Snow and Gusty Wind on Tuesday - Poor Travel Conditions Expected

A Nor'easter  is expected to impact the region today, but the impact around the Capital Region looks to be on the lighter side, as the storm takes a more Easterly track. Snow will become steadier from SE to NW this morning, with snowfall of varying intensity through this afternoon and evening.  A gusty NNW wind from 15-20 mph at times will cause blowing and drifting of the very dry snow creating poor visibility and hazardous travel conditions at times through late tonight. General Storm accumulations in the Capital Region of 2-6" are expected, with higher amounts across western New England.

The beginning of early demolition for roads around the proposed Amsterdam Mall.

The old Kresge's 5 and 10 closed a month earlier and was being demolished as was the old Kramer company building on cherry street.

67 buildings in all were torn down to make room for a north-south arterial highway to replace the old bridge that connected from the other side of the river right to downtown Amsterdam.July 29, 1966 - Demolition around proposed Amsterdam Mall
