Heavy Snow Storm Expected Sunday Night Through Monday

WINTER STORM WARNING ISSUED from 9pm Sunday through 6pm Monday. A developing winter storm will bring significant snow to the area beginning later Sunday night and continuing through Monday. This will be a particularly cold storm with temperatures in the single digits to lower teens combined with periods of heavy snow with snowfall rates of 1"-2" per hour at times and gusty wind to produce treacherous travel conditions. Widespread heavy snow accumulations in excess of 7" are likely with this storm.

August 19, 1972 - Central Markets announces 24 hour change

On this day in our history back in 1972, Central Markets -- which would later become Price Chopper -- gets the jump on the competition, including A&P and Shop Rite by announcing they would stay open 24 hours a day.
