POTENTIAL WINTER STORM WEDNESDAY INTO THANKGIVING

There remains considerable uncertainty in the track and intensity of an anticipated coastal storm from Wednesday afternoon through early Thanksgiving morning, but confidence is increasing for a storm to bring accumulating snow to much of the region which would cause travel difficulty.  Details on amounts and timing will become more clear over the next twelve to twenty four hours.  Keep up to date on the forecast.

Saratoga Weekend Recap: Jockeys - 07/22/13

After the first weekend of racing at Saratoga, Johnny Velazquez is the leading rider with 5 wins in 25 starts. It has been a pretty fast start for Velazquez who also has 3 place and 3 show finishes. He is finishing Top 3 at a 44% clip thus far. Johnny scored his first Stakes win of the meet aboard NY-Bred Hessonite in the $100K On The Bus Stakes on Friday. Velazquez followed that up with two more Stakes wins on Saturday including the G-3 Shuvee aboard Authenticity. His total earnings for the weekend was more than $434,000.

Rosie Napravnik and Javier Castellano have three wins apiece from 23 mounts. With many expecting a big Saratoga meet from Joel Rosario after the year he has had so far, it has been a decent start for him. He has finished in the Top 3 with 12 of 27 mounts, but just two winners, good for $324,722 in earnings.

One of the more impressive moves of the weekend was made by Shaun Bridgmohan in yesterday's G-2 Sanford. He squeezed Wired Bryan between horses through the lane to score the upset win.

Jockey Standings:

(Name - Wins-Mounts)

1. John Velazquez - 5/25

2. Rosie Napravnik - 3/23

3. Javier Castellano - 3/23

4. Rajiv Maragh - 2/22
