Cuomo says special legislative session possible for flood relief - 07/08/13
If the federal government doesn't help New York communities than the state will pick up the tab, that was a promise Governor Andrew Cuomo made Sunday in Herkimer County.
Cuomo said he would be calling the President, Monday, and "pushing the White House" to have FEMA funding make its way to upstate communities in New York. If not the governor said he would call a special session of state legislature to have state money approved to help the area affected by floods.
"We will find it somewhere," Cuomo said.
In the past few weeks heavy rains and floods have affected the western parts of Montgomery County and the eastern parts of Herkimer County.
