Stimulus money to fund Menands-Troy walkway
The City of Troy will accept stimulus funds to fund the Troy-Menands Bikeway/Walkway project in South Troy, according to a statement released by Mayor Tutunjian's office on Friday.
Tutunjian said the walkway will help develop the riverfront from South Troy to Lansingburgh and will connect Troy to Corning Preserve.
The project will begin in spring of next year and should be completed by fall, the mayor's office said.
Troy has already received stimulus funds for two additional projects, including $400,000 for the Lower Congress-Ferry Street project and $152,590 for new signal equipment and handicap accessible sidewalks in Downtown Troy.
