3 arrested on drug charges in traffic stop
ALBANY -- State Police arrested three city residents when troopers discovered drugs in their car during a traffic stop Thursday night.
Troopers pulled over a vehicle on I-90 west in the city of Albany for traffic violations at 10:15 p.m., according to State Police spokesperson Trooper Maureen Tuffey.
During the stop, it became apparent to troopers there were drugs in the vehicle, said Trooper Tuffey. One of the car's occupants fled on foot, prompting a chase across I-90.
When the trooper caught up to the suspect, the suspect resisted arrest. He was eventually subdued.
The car's occupants were charged with violation unlawful possession of marijuana and felony criminal possession of a controlled substance.

- 31-year-old Hector Acevedo
The suspect who resisted arrest, Acevedo, was additionally charged with resisting arrest and second-degree assault.
All three were arraigned in city court and remanded to county jail without bail.
