Queensbury man arrested for assaulting 5-year-old
QUEENSBURY -- The Warren County Sheriff's Office arrested a Queensbury man Sunday morning for assaulting a five-year-old girl, leaving the girl with bruises and swelling on her face, and for failing to register an address change as a convicted sex offender.
Police arrested 28-year-old Robert Bernard, Jr. at his 255B Burke Drive residence after he allegedly assaulted the girl, causing bruising and swelling to her eye and temple, according to the sheriff's office.
He was charged with felony second-degree assault in the incident.
Bernard's relationship to the girl wasn't clear, though police said he was with family members at the time of the assault.
Bernard was also charged with failing to register an address change as a sex offender. Bernard is a registered level-two sex offender, said the sheriff's office.
