Albany Police investigate several Friday night incidents
Albany police are investigating a series of overnight incidents in the city.
In the first, a 14-year-old told police he was robbed at knifepoint on Garden Street. The teen told police around 6:45 Friday night, a man with a mask approached him, showed a knife, and demanded money. When the teen refused he was punched in the face. Police say an approaching vehicle caused the suspect to run off, before getting anything from the victim who was not injured.
Police are also investigating a shooting incident. They tell us around 10:15 Friday night, two men were in a car when another man fired three shots at the car, breaking the rear window. It happened in the area of first and Judson Streets. Police found a .357 caliber revolver near the scene. The two men in the car were not injured, and police do not have any suspects at this time.
And at 1:15am Saturday morning, a 49-year-old park avenue man was stabbed four times in the back. The man told police he went ouside to investigate a noise at the Philip Street apartment where he was staying, and saw a man in front of the building. The victim told police, when he asked the man if he was OK, the man attacked him. The victim was taken the hospital, with non life-threatening injuries. He told police he did not want to pursue the case.
