Michelle Marsh

Michelle Marsh joined CBS 6 News from WIVT in Binghamton, NY, where she was a general assignment reporter. She made the move to the Capital District joining her sister, former CBS 6 reporter Rene Marsh.

Michelle graduated Magna Cum Laude from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism.

Michelle is a New Yorker. She grew up in both Queens and Long Island. She says her inspiration to succeed comes from her parents. She grew up watching former New York City anchorwoman Michele Marsh.

Michelle became intrigued by the profession and knew she also wanted to be a journalist. People often ask, "Did you know there used to be an anchorwoman in NYC with that name?" Michelle laughs at that question because she has heard it all her life!

Michelle loves the variety and creativity that her career in journalism allows. "I can't imagine doing anything else more fulfilling."

Michelle, who is of Jamaican heritage, is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She enjoys visiting schools and speaking to students and young journalists about the business.

Besides her passion for television she also enjoys dancing in her spare time. She has trained in tap, pointe, and modern dance for more than 14 years. Her other interests include reading, dining out, traveling, and musical theater. She's also a big sports fan and enjoys cheering for her alma mater. Go Orange!

Michelle wants to hear from you!
