Working mom from Fulton County scores $1 million Lottery prize
SCHENECTADY -- A 30-year-old grocery store clerk from Fulton County is New York's latest $1 million Lottery winner.
June Mattice, a mother of two from Northville, won the prize in a "$1,000,000 Cash Blast" instant ticket, the New York Lottery said Thursday.
Mattice had purchased three of the scratch-off tickets at the Grand Union supermarket on North Main St. in Northville, where she works as a scanning coordinator.
She said Thursday she planned to first use some of the money to build closets in her house, which currently has none.
Mattice will receive her prize in 20 net annual payments of $33,015 through 2028, the Lottery said.
Mattice is the first statewide winner of the "$1,000,000 Cash Blast" ticket, and the first Lottery player to win $1 million in Fulton County this year, according to the New York Lottery.
