$6 million Lottery prizes for 2 Capital Region residents
SCHENECTADY -- The New York Lottery announced two more Capital Region millionaire winners today.
Forty-three-year-old Molly Sherwin of Albany won the $5 million top prize in the Lottery's "Set for Life" instant game.
Sherwin purchased her winning ticket on Oct. 24 at the Latham Circle Mobil on Troy-Schenectady Rd. in Latham, and claimed it on Oct. 26 at the Lottery's offices in Schenectady.
Sherwin, the youngest of 13 children and a district employee for Stewart's Shops, will receive annual payments of $260,000 before taxes, netting her $171,678 a year.
Twenty-six-year-old Tu "Johnny" Vu won a $1 million prize from a "New York Poker" ticket purchased at the Price Chopper store at 105 Plaza Lane in Cobleskill.
A self-employed manicurist, Vu plans to use his winnings to open his own spa business, according to a press release from the Lottery.
Vu will receive his prize in 20 annual payments of $50,000 each, netting $33,015, through 2028.
