Fingerprints link Lake George man to boat burglaries
LAKE GEORGE -- A 20-year-old was arrested Tuesday on charges he stole TVs and other electronics from boats winterized and stored in Lake George, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators took fingerprints from inside burglarized boats at Shoreline Boat Sales on Sewell Street in late October.
Those fingerprints were later matched to Norman Jeckel III of Courtland Street in Lake George. He was arrested Tuesday and charged with grand larceny and criminal mischief -- both are felonies.
Equipment was stolen from nine shrink wrapped boats.
Investigators said Jeckel took them to several locations where they recovered the stolen property.
