Warren County man arrested after driving truck toward wife, kids
WARREN COUNTY -- A Pottersville man is facing several charges for allegedly driving his truck at his wife and two children during a domestic incident, the Warren County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
The Sheriff's Office said 37-year-old William Smith drove his vehicle toward his wife and children, ages 15 and 12, as they were walking down Olmstedville Rd. in an effort to flee their home and arrive at a friend's home to call police.
When patrol officers arrived at the residence to arrest Smith, he allegedly charged at them, swinging a four-feet construction level. Officers were able to subdue Smith with the use of a pepper spray, said the Sheriff's Office.
Smith has been charged with reckless endangerment, endangering the welfare of a child, second-degree attempted assault against a police officer and resisting arrest. He was arraigned in Chestertown Court and sent to Warren County Jail.
