2 arrested in separate Greene County burglaries

CATSKILL -- Two men have been arrested in Greene County on separate burglary charges, the Greene County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday.

Thirty-six-year-old Donald Webster was arrested on a felony charge of third-degree burglary in connection with the burglary of a Catskill business on Nov. 14.

Webster was arraigned in Catskill Town Court and released pending a future court date.

Separately, 44-year-old year Robert Raffiani of New Baltimore was arrested on a felony charge of second-degree burglary for allegedly breaking into a New Baltimore home on Dec. 28.

The Sheriff's Office arrested Raffiani after receiving a report of a "suspicious individual" walking in the area of Route 51 and Hadley Rd. in New Baltimore. Responding deputies located Raffiani, who matched the description of the burglar.

Raffiani was arrested and arraigned in Athens Village Court and remanded to the Greene County Jail without bail.

Raffiani had previously been convicted on similar charges in Greene County, and served three years in state prison, according to Sheriff Greg Seeley.
