Project Access initiative yields 38 tickets in Albany County
Comments 0 | Recommend 0ALBANY COUNTY - Police issued 38 tickets yesterday to drivers parked illegally in handicapped parking spaces around Albany County, according to a press release from the Albany County Traffic Safety Board today.
The tickets yielded $5,965 in fines, with Albany Police summonsing the most motorists with 19 tickets issued. Colonie Police issued 15 tickets, and Menands Police and University Police Albany issued two tickets apiece.
Project Access targets non-disabled drivers parking in parking spots reserved for disabled drivers. The handicap parking sting began in 1994 and has issued more than $215,000 in fines.
